Adam put his phone down and turned over, intending to actually go to sleep. He had a ten am class the following morning and, while he knew he’d be tired anyway, he thought that he should at least try for some rest.
But his mind kept going back to Ronan.
More specifically, it kept going back to Ronan’s songs.
He wondered how many were written about him, if any. He wondered how many subtle calls to him he’d missed, unconsciously dismissing them out of the gate because of Ronan’s seemingly blind dislike of him.

Summary
That hadn’t been a lie - he wasn’t a liar, and everybody knew this - but it had been a half-truth. He didn’t care about scaring Adam off. He did find himself caring more and more if Adam was around, which was concerning.
What was more concerning, however, was the fact that he seemed physically unable to write anything that wasn’t about Adam.
Every song he’d scrawled after fever dreams woke him up at three in the morning were odes to Adam’s lightly freckles skin, to the worry lines already forming at his brow. Every bridge that got stuck in his head during long drives were sonnets to the throaty sound Adam made when he laughed, like he was surprised he was laughing. Every lyric related back to Adam in some way, and it was driving him out of his mind.
[AKA the prequal to 'Better Off As Lovers (And Not the Other Way Around', telling the tale of Ronan falling in love with Adam and being so repressed about it that the only outlet he has is writing songs about him]

It’s a horrible pick up attempt. Kiyoomi resents the anticipation that twists in his gut, resents all the sly smiles and weighted stares that work exactly how they’re intended to. Resents that Atsumu knows what he’s doing, wearing Kiyoomi down until he snaps under the tension.
Well, two can play this game, and Kiyoomi’s not going down without a fight.

Summary
Kaveh was perfectly happy to let Alhaitham pretend to be his boyfriend for five minutes if it meant getting another man to back off.
Unfortunately, Alhaitham decided to commit to the role for much longer than necessary, and Kaveh was too competitive to back down. Since neither of them had the good sense to realize when they should stop kissing, said performance eventually stretched into something else entirely.
And it was obviously all just part of the act.
