Summary
“Nero, calm down.” He yanks him forward by the ankle so he’s on his back again, but Nero is still thrashing around, trying to hit him or cover his face or hide. “Nero. I really don’t mind it at all.” Vergil manages to grapple him into a sort of headlock, and he leans down to speak directly into his ear. “Dante had his reservations probably because. Well.” His voice dips into a bit of a growl. "He's not your father, is he?”
Vergil figures out there's a first of Nero’s he can still take for himself. After all, there are some things that only a father can do for his son.

"Leon," Chris interrupts him, staring at the various medications now settled atop the duvet, "...did you buy the whole pharmacy?"
Only then does he realize that alright, fine, maybe he went a little overboard. There was still half a bag full of products downstairs on the kitchen counter, whatever he couldn't fit in his pockets. Leon stares at Chris as a heat burns the back of his neck.
He huffs, "It's been awhile since I've dealt with infected that didn't involve a gun, ok? Shut the hell up."

Whenever Grace was feeling down, she liked to imagine all the different ‘R’ Commanders, Captains and Operatives as the same mythical “superhero” BSAA soldier. It felt nice to imagine (if only for a moment) that wherever a bioweapon would spring up there would be an immovable soldier to meet its unstoppable force, saving the day.
But of course, no one person could do all that.Or:
The one where Grace cannot believe all the redacted BSAA Captains are the same guy who, along with his husband, highk kinda adopted her.

Leon doesn't seem upset, though, leaning back against the stone baluster with a contemplative look. "Hmm. No, it's okay. Actually, it might solve our problems if people do think that."
"If people think… we're together?" The words feel strange in his mouth, almost expecting to be slapped for even thinking about it, but Leon nods slowly.
"I mean, would save us the trouble of inventing any fake spouses, you know? And this line of work doesn't leave much space for a relationship outside of it anyway. It makes sense, don't you think?"
God, does it make sense. If only Leon knew how often and thoroughly Chris had considered that it made sense. Well, perhaps it's still better he doesn't know. "Yes." Chris's voice comes out raspy, and he clears his throat and tries again. "Yes, it makes sense."

Summoning the copy of the Yamato, let alone using it, didn't come easy to Nero. His father's teaching didn't help either, especially not when half of the lessons ended in awkward silence and the other half ended…like this.

“Answer something for me now,” Din said. He slipped two fingers under Cobb's low-slung belt and tugged him forward. Untucked the front of his shirt, slid his hand up the back to feel the dip of Cobb's spine. “Does it bother you… that I'm leaving tomorrow?”
Cobb brought one hand up to the side of Din’s neck, grip firm and warm and skin-seeking. Din wanted to flinch, he should, but he pulled Cobb closer, didn’t he? At a single graze of Cobb’s thumb along his jaw, Din’s nerves lit up. He wanted this, desired Cobb, and he couldn’t really deny it any longer—had already choked off that part of himself that needed to remain unknown. Only for tonight.
“No.” The hush of Cobb's voice pulled at the edges of that void within Din again, spinning sutures to close it up. “Not lookin’ for strings, don't worry.”
There were many things Cobb had told Din over the past few days, which Din suspected of being embellishments or recollection made prettier for an altruistic stranger's benefit. But this might've been the first time Din was sure Cobb was outright lying to him.

It’s been months since he’s talked to anybody outside of coworkers and Hunnigan, longer since he’s used his cellphone or even charged it, and he’s overdue on keeping contact with the few people he calls his family. When he finally places his cellphone to charge and sleep the remainder of the day off, he wakes up to too many notifications from Chris between midnight and five AM.
Chris, who he barely texts because of his horribly hidden crush that everybody knows about.
Chris, who was clearly either intoxicated or concussed to be asking Leon out, out of all people.
