Summary
It had been Bilbo and Frodo and Frodo and Bilbo throughout their whole 6 years, being a single parent challenged Bilbo both mentally and physically. Raising a whole child by yourself without his biological Father present stripped Bilbo off his dignitaries and reputation as the once respectable Baggins of their descent.
Thorin Oakenshield is an uninterested Carpenter who lived his years off mechanically and with a routine, but fate is a funny thing when he found a lost small child that could barely reach his knees lost in the park asking for his help to find his parent and the rest will be history.

Summary
Bilbo struggles tipping at his tiptoes trying to reach something so he wavers and called for aid at the dwarf not too far away across the room.
“Could you please grab that lamp for me? I can’t reach it” Bilbo smiles sheepishly. Thorin- Excelling little effort, he managed to grab the lamp and hand it to Bilbo whose next word is just what Thorin had been dreading to experience.
“Good boy,” Bilbo praised in a low private voice, tapping Thorin’s bearded chin.
Bilbo left, acting as if nothing was wrong while a stone-still (and rock-hard) Thorin forgot how to breathe.
It wasn't until later that the King under the Mountain is on his knees at the cold wooden floor, eyes raked up at the child of the kindly west with devouring eyes and body spread in hands reach.

“Thorin! Thorin! Don't move, we're gonna get help…” Bilbo gently grabbed Thorin's head, replacing the cold hard ground with the warmth of his clothed lap.
“Amrâl, I wish to cease my courtship with you” Thorin chokes, gritting his teeth at the crashing pain in his chest.
“Stop talking, Thorin…you're injured” Bilbo dismissed with a broken cry in his throat, holding Thorin's reaching arms to cradle him.
The pain he's feeling is no comparison to the knowledge of almost endangering the Hobbit he swore to protect and love with all his life.
Thorin through facing his near death still managed to be the stubborn dwarf he is and tampering another chance of life with Bilbo Baggins, his intended.
