Summary
It’s a possible murder. Haru’s memory of a much younger version of himself comes flooding back, pinky-promising himself that when he would grow up to be a detective-cop, he’d never actually kill anyone, no matter how vile they were. He remembers the oath he’d taken as a police cadet in his days of youth, to never shoot to kill no matter how dire the crime was.
“Haru, he’s almost dead,” the voice he finally registers to be the Chief’s rings in his ear yet again. Haru’s throat constricts, constricts so impossibly that he thinks he’s asphyxiated himself, rendering himself mute.

It never ceases to astound Daisuke just how much a year can warp and turn one’s life upside down. He’s been blessed with fortune all his life, and he knows it. From mansion to mansion, specially-bred pet dogs, piano lessons with renowned pianists, a personal library, homeschooling by the elite, special training across the globe in England.
But he knows only this year, this change, to be the greatest fortune of all bestowed upon him.
Daisuke peeks an eye open to see just how much he’s riled Haru up, not forgetting to shoot him an unmistakable smirk. It’s become routine.

Caesar’s equally attracted to and repulsed by him, or at least he would’ve said equally up until whatever time he realized he’s spending less time wishing he could kick his ass than he is wishing he could pin him to the floor and make him forget his own name.

Instead, they hang, claw-like, in front of him. It'd be funny if Phainon had the upper hand. "Look me in the eye..."
Instead—in an obviously Pavlovian response—Phainon does.
"…And ask. One more time."
The song plummets into the bridge, petering out between them. Phainon inhales deeply, catalogues his crowded, eclectic dining/living room, at everything and everywhere except Mydei until he absolutely has to.
"Right…um. So. Mydei…" he nods, smiles, even, despite the dread. No point in backing down now.
"Do you want to make a sex tape?"
Phainon has a proposition. His feelings for Mydei are (definitely) not part of it.
