The Hashira rarely managed to gather outside the battlefield, but when Mitsuri begged for everyone to go out together for a night of drinking (her sparkles could’ve melted steel), no one could say no. Even Giyuu, who usually avoided such things with evasive excuses, was dragged along this time—cornered by Mitsuri’s unrelenting sweetness.
The others expected her to sit quietly, drink a cup or two, and then brood in a corner like she always did. What none of them realized was that Giyuu was a spectacular lightweight.

Summary
Giyuu had been up in the crest for far too long, disregarding how hard the troughs hit. Fate told him that he had spent too much time in the light that it was time for him to wallow in the shadows where a traitor and helpless person like him belonged. Tokitou’s presence was truly a saving grace, but that chance he wasted for naught. A change, a bond, a trust they had woven carefully, now spoiled like an oil spill on the pure waters —the damage was irreversible. And Giyuu did that.
