Vi doesn’t ever bother pointing out that sometimes, wounds just don’t heal. Sometimes, people die, and the wounds they leave behind ooze and bleed and crack open at the worst possible times. Sometimes, those wounds simply can’t be fixed, can’t be sewn up or bandaged. She has a thousand scars from a million injuries that she has half-heartedly mended- she knows all about the healing process. She also happens to know that the hole her sister left behind when she’d fallen with what had been left of their father will never scab or heal over- she’ll never bear that scar because it can never form, she will always just be trying to control the mess as she slowly bleeds to death.
