Nancy's own bedroom was on the second floor of the Wheeler house, and therefore required a more athletic approach. Since she'd hit puberty, Mrs. Wheeler had been absolutely panicked about how easily Nancy could sneak out of the house if they crashed in the living room for their sleepovers and they'd been banned to the bedroom ever since.

Summary
Nursey wakes up cold—body wracked with shivers, can’t-feel-your-toes, nose-so-frozen-it-hurts cold. It feels like if he moves from his little ball of pseudo-warmth he’s curled up in under the blankets, he might die. Spending the week at the Poindexter family’s cabin between Christmas and New Years had seemed like a great idea when Dex’s Great-Aunt Deb had suggested it. Now that he’s on the verge of freezing to death, he’s starting to have second thoughts about not flying out to his parents’ vacation home in Morocco for the holiday.
Or, Nursey and Dex head to a cabin in the woods in the middle of winter. Naturally the heating goes out.

“Probably to remind you we have the right to refuse service to anyone and that loitering is a crime.”
