    He breathes in a shaky breath but does not open his eyes. I cup his face in my hand. He feels hot. I had taken too much once and the warmth grows and grows until it feels like you are being wrenched in two. Juno had been breathing it in for a long time. He had had much more than anyone should.

    “Juno, can you hear me?” I run my thumb back and forth against his cheek and it's at that motion that he lets out a shuddering breath and opens his eye.
