Summary
“I just– I don’t understand why you kissed me if you didn’t…want this.”
His expression morphs into something between fear and disbelief and he takes a step closer, her arm held to his chest. “What are you talking about? What do you mean I don’t want this?”
“I heard what you said today. To Donnie. I shouldn’t– I didn’t mean to eavesdrop, I swear, I was…looking for you. And I heard you. I just wish you would have talked to me instead of, I don’t know. Instead of trying to get rid of me.”
Frank gawks at her. “That’s what you think this is? You think I’m too chicken-shit to talk to you about how I feel so I, what, concoct some fucked-up strategy to get you to leave first? Jesus, Mel, is that really what you think of me?”

Summary
Mel shoots another look at her seat stealer—even if he didn’t know that’s what he was doing, she’s still going to hold a grudge—and notices for the first time that he’s, like, absurdly attractive. His dark hair is sticking up in an intentional bedhead kind of way, his jaw is insanely sharp, and his eyes are a striking blue, light enough that she can make them out feet away.
Before she can get too carried away studying him, though, he does something that makes her blood boil: he crosses his arms on the table in front of him and puts his head down, apparently settling in for a nap.
A nap! In her seat! What a waste!
(or: 5 times Frank steals Mel’s seat + 1 time she steals his.)

Summary
If Frank had ever thought about it before, which he hadn't, he’d probably conclude he likes physical touch about as much as the average person does.
It’s not like he minds it when people touch him, especially since he’s kind of oblivious about personal space. He often ends up brushing up against people or dropping a hand to a shoulder or bumping into someone in the Pitt, and he doesn’t tend to think twice about it beyond a quick apology when needed.
(And maybe he does some of that on purpose, when it comes to one coworker in particular, but again, this isn’t something Frank has ever thought about, so he definitely doesn’t dwell on what that means.)

"I guess I’m not really used to thinking about options,” he admits, which feels like an unbelievably dumb thing for an adult—a father, a teacher, an ex-husband, an addict—to say out loud. “I just do the thing that seems like what you’re supposed to do."
Leanne hums in the way that Frank has come to learn, two stints in rehab later, is therapist non-verbal speak for “you’ve said something very troubling and therefore fascinating. Prepare to learn about yourself.”
