    Oscar raised a single eyebrow. He looked about as hungover as Lando felt, but there was a wry tilt to his mouth.

    “Well,” he said flatly. “At least you were committed.”

    Liam never had the Rookie experience.

    It's a little fact he hardly thinks about truth be told, a small thing that only sometimes nags at the back of his mind, something so small, so irrelevant he feels a little embarrassed to even acknowledge at all most of the time, let alone allow himself to feel anything regarding it.

    F1 is fast. F1 is unpredictable. F1 is harsh.

    At least that was his experience: Liam wasn't taught how to navigate it, he was one of those kids who learned how to swim by being thrown on the deep end while the adults around watched with vague interest, not overly worried about the possibility of him sinking because they had other kids waiting by the shore.

    He didn't know things could be different, but oh how clearly he saw that they could.

    Just not for him.

    Or: 5 times Liam didn't think he mattered as much to Max and the Rookies and the ensuing crash outs they had over it.

    Or: Oscar Piastri is a lonely, closeted F1 driver who's one mistaken hook-up away from certain ruin. Lando is a down-on-his-luck photographer facing down eviction. When Lando tries (and fails) to mug Oscar in a desperate attempt to keep his housing, Oscar proposes a mutually beneficial arrangement: Lando lives with Oscar as his companion for one year. After that, they're free to go their separate ways. A rock-solid NDA and no hard feelings. What could go wrong?

    Wait.

    “That’s it?” Max hisses, incredulous. “Seriously? I’m getting cancelled over a joke about fucking farming?”

    Max has had PR disasters before. This time, though, he’s made the mistake of pissing off some random British farmer with a loyal YouTube fanbase and a penchant for passive-aggressive callouts via X. And George Russell isn’t the type who’s easily appeased.

    (Or: Max learns to drive a tractor, harvest wheat, and fall in love.)
