Summary
A couple of years following the fall, Hannibal and Will have slipped into a tentative domesticity. Sexually, they have known each other fully. Intimately, there is a newfound barrier. Their bond is frayed, mangled by unspoken truths. Hannibal feels left in the dark, both figuratively and literally, by his lover. Will refuses to touch Hannibal with the lights on, and even in the dark, he is a suppressed, caged beast; it’s only a matter of time before one of them reaches their breaking point.

Summary
Set in early season one, before Will develops encephalitis. Hannibal and Will are forced to stay the night at a motel due to a snowstorm after a case. There is only one room available—and said room holds just a single bed. Finding themselves in such extenuating circumstances, the two men make the best of their time together. In the span of a single night, Hannibal and Will become inextricably closer—both physically and emotionally.

Summary

Hannibal blinked, taken aback by the sudden turn of phrase. Then his upper lip curled. “I beg your pardon?”
Will looked phenomenally unconcerned for someone whose tongue Hannibal was idly contemplating serving as an amuse-bouche. If anything he looked satisfied at throwing Hannibal off-balance, a smile playing around his lips. He straightened his back, raised a brow, and said with relish: “Then beg.”
Hannibal finds himself unexpectedly attracted to Will's dominance. Will stumbles upon his submissive streak by accident, and is quick to seize this opportunity.

Summary
Admittedly, in recent weeks, Will has started to lose track of which direction the tug is coming from. He figures it’s okay – as long as they stay the course, what happens in the meantime shouldn’t matter much. Ends and means and all that. There is a precarious knife-edge he’s been teetering on, though; waking up frantic and sweating and wanting in the dead of night. Sometimes he’s sure that Hannibal can smell it on him.
When he finally meets Hannibal’s eyes, it is the Ripper staring back at him.
