Caitlyn blinked. “My—”
“Your period,” Vi cut her off, still being careful and cautious.
“Oh.”

The woman, Vi, quirked an eyebrow. “Yeah.”
She blinked again. Her bloodied eye burned and her brow furrowed, vision momentarily flashing black, then red. “That is rather short.”
A tiny smile tugged at Vi’s mouth, stretching a tiny, tight scar she had on her upper lip. “Got a problem with it?”
Despite everything, Caitlyn almost laughed. “No.”
