“Satomi-kun,” Kyouji swallowed, his throat clicking. He nodded toward his black leather overnight bag. “There’s a pill bottle in my bag.” His voice sounded dull to his ears. Sitting down on the futon had instantly robbed him of the ability to put any kind of energy into speaking.
“Where?” Satomi said, already unzipping Kyouji’s bag, shuffling through the contents.
“Inside pocket.” A stupid thing, to come back here because it’s where his things were. His possessions kept so carefully packed away, neatly gathered so as not to leave pieces of himself strewn about Satomi’s apartment, cluttering up his life with mess that didn’t belong to him. Kyouji should have picked up his bag and left. He shouldn’t have come back here at all.
Kyouji tries, and fails, to forget.
