Dazai hates this. Every day before school, his big brother Odasaku tells him the kinds of things he should prepare for—like cold or hot weather, lunch, rain, but the one time he had to go to work early and couldn’t? It pours.
The sound of thunder envelopes his ears, making him shake as he holds his shivering arms and his chattering teeth.
Another pound of thunder hits the sky. This time he jumps—like a nervous stray at the slightest of sounds. He hates this. His black shoes are soaked, his blue shirt’s stuck wetly to his chest, and dark brown damp curls stick to his forehead. He tries his best to ignore the loud cracks and continues weaving through the sidewalks in the seemingly endless neighborhood to get back to his house. Rain drips down his nose as he hears small splashes against the hard cement of the sidewalk behind him.

Summary
For the first time in a long time. He wants.
It’s a stupid thought really, to wish for something like this. There’s a high chance that Chuuya will turn away and never look back. But alas, when one is given an inch, they will always reach for that mile.
Because the thing that Dazai wants–no craves, is the possibility of Chuuya seeing the ugly, shredded parts of him and for him to choose to still stand with him. To see him when he can’t pull together the shattered and broken pieces of his mask and stick around.
But the most dangerous thought–The one that always roams free in his mind during the middle of the night, as he stares up at the rigid metal of the shipping container’s ceiling, is one of the utmost importance that he keeps locked away, in the deepest of the cold trenches of Dazai’s mind.
