He's been putting off clearing the air between them for a while now, so that's probably on him. At least now they have a chance to talk.
... And maybe they can work out an alternative method for Flambae to vent his anger toward Mecha Man.

The Phoenix Program has been good to Flambae. He's adjusting to life outside of prison, building up a positive reputation for himself, and even getting a halfway decent paycheck while he does it. The day he held the key to his precious Pontiac Firebird in hand, bought and paid for with the cash he'd earned with his own blood, sweat, and tears, he felt like a new man.
Sure, the SDN can't find them a dispatcher worth half a damn—but his teammates are bonding over each one they haze into oblivion. Flambae's work on that Kia Soul was absolutely devious.
Then he has an ill-fated run-in with Mecha Man at Crypto Night—and like some kind of fucked up cascade of karmic dominoes, every good thing Flambae painstakingly earned for himself since the last time they met goes the way of his pride: broken and bleeding on a filthy barroom floor.

Toxic asks Shroud for some time off to attend a gaming convention so he can participate in a Magic: The Gathering tournament. If anyone asks, it's less out of true passion for the hobby, and mostly because TCG enthusiasts are incredibly easy to rile up.
The only wrench in his leisurely weekend plans of enjoying the nerdy ambiance and trolling lesser nerds with his bad attitude is stumbling upon two of Mecha Dick's rehab rejects in the gaming room. And then they drag him into a three-way warm-up match to test their mettle before the tournament.
Cool. Awesome. Fucking outstanding, just... a phenomenal situation for him to be in, specifically.
He just has to remind himself not to work up a sweat in this sweltering fucking convention center. Or ET and his fucking Lucky Charm are going to clock Toxic in an instant.

A really incredible post-canon slow burn Wintersberg road trip fic.
Opens in media res a few months(?) after the events of the game, with Ethan rescuing an amnesiac Heisenberg from the Connections. Heisenberg naturally has doubts about this seemingly altruistic stranger who claims to know him... 🤨
Interspersed with flashback chapters which take place immediately after the game, which despite pulling away from the immediacy of the present conflict are well worth the read for the context and contrast they provide. Heisenberg's goals are different after losing his memories, and his capacity for trust is completely bankrupt. ): Don't skip these chapters!
At the moment (as of chapter 7), only some flirting under false pretenses has happened... But this fic has a lot of promise already. I will be watching diligently. 👁✨️
(Tags are, as near as I can tell, the best translation for the author's original tags in Russian. tl. Google Translate, which I am also using to read the fic, lol)
