Summary

Palpatine offers Padmé to join him, but she denies his request, opting to be a prisoner. Eventually, she is placed under the custody of Darth Vader, who treats her surprisingly well. She becomes his confidente, and wonders what would happen if she exploited the new path their relationship is on...

“Sinking ship?” Mikey gawked, keeping his voice below a whisper. “What the fuck is that supposed to mean?”
“I’m saying,” the man said, bringing his face close to Mikey’s once again. Too close in this kind of environment. His heart was pounding in his ears. “You’re digging a hole for yourself, and one day it’s gonna cave in. And I won’t be there when it does. I don’t think anyone will.”

Mikey didn't know what to think about Pete Wentz, and quite honestly, he didn't have time to care. His life was busy enough with his best friend leaving, his brother's perpetual downward spiral, and an identity crisis that he didn't care to handle with anything other than substantial amounts of weed. He didn't need to add Pete's attention seeking stunts to the list. But he was kind of hard to ignore.

Pete’s face felt too hot suddenly, his heart hammered in his chest so hard that Pete was worried Mikey might hear it somehow, even though that was physically impossible.
Except that Mikey’s eyes dropped to stare a hole into his chest, eyes fixed right over where his heart was pounding, and his grin grew a little sharp, his eyes dilated ever so slightly and it looked like that he could hear every pound, every rush of blood locked in his chest.
But that's.... That's impossible.
