“When you go,” Hao starts, but fresh tears interrupt him. “When you go, I need you to wait for me a little bit. Just a few minutes. Then I’m gonna come and find you, wherever you are.”
Their faces are so close now, Hao swears he can see the sparks in Hanbin’s eyes. If he tries to focus, he can see them going out one by one.
“Okay.” Hanbin says, barely a whisper. Hao can feel him disappearing again, so he clutches him closer, until he doesn’t know where one ends and the other one begins. If he can only hold him hard enough, maybe he can stop him from slipping away.
In a small house on the outskirts of Seoul, Sung Hanbin is dying.
Zhang Hao knows what he has to do. After all, he would follow Sung Hanbin anywhere.

Summary
Zhang Hao isn’t getting cold feet, he wants to make that very clear. He loves Hanbin, more than anything in the world actually, and he’s been waiting for this day for years. It’s just that the room is suddenly unbearably stuffy, the bodies of people around him are starting to suffocate him, and he can’t really remember the last proper meal he had.
Oh, and he hasn't seen Hanbin since yesterday.
or, it's their wedding day and they're not supposed to see each other before the ceremony. Hao freaks out, Hanbin comforts him over the phone.

In the end, there’s no jigsaw falling into place. There’s no gradual realisation, no growing suspicion, no hmm, that was kinda weird. Of course there isn’t — Zhang Hao wasn’t aware he should be on the lookout for fucking vampires. Least of all his boyfriend being an actual, honest-to-God vampire.

Summary
If they were together — his breath quickens just thinking about it — then Zhang Hao would search for him in the crowd, would reach out to him with an outstretched hand. Hanbin would cross that fan-idol boundary; it's not so much about him seeing Zhang Hao, because he already knows everything there is to know, but Zhang Hao seeing him. He would dissect Hanbin meticulously and lovingly, tilting his head with a thoughtful notch in his brow. It would be his decision whether he would accept what he sees or run screaming.

Summary
It's fitting that he realises he loves Hanbin while he's watching him tear out another tribute's throat with his teeth. He had expected that it would be earth-shattering, maybe, something similar to the depictions in the romance novels he used to read. But Zhang Hao only traces Hanbin's form on the screen, his staunch refusal to cede victory, and thinks oh, I love him.
If only Zhang Hao knew winning the Games would be the easy part.

If any part of Hanbin was thinking about how this looked from an outside perspective right now, he would know that he had already crossed well over the line of propriety for an awards show. So without stopping to think at all, Hanbin swings himself around to Zhang Hao’s other side under the guise of checking the left side of his face, one hand nearly touching his cheek before he realizes that might actually create a blemish in his makeup.
“Perfect,” Hanbin whispers.
“What?” Zhang Hao’s head tilts in question.
Hanbin coughs awkwardly, “I said it looks good.”
or, the one where sung hanbin, idol-turned-actor, causes quite the commotion online when videos are posted of him nearly kissing renowned singer zhang hao in the middle of an awards show ceremony where they’d both been nominated.

There’s no excuse he can give them that will make them understand, not unless he admits this whole relationship is a sham.
Zhang Hao never meant for his small white lie about having a boyfriend to spiral so far out of control. Hiring Hanbin to play the part was supposed to be a simple transaction, but with every fake date they go on, the line between pretend and something real begins to blur.
