The dreams would quickly turn into nightmares, with the Red Force turning full of blood, and his family’s bodies (all full of cuts, of blood, of..) walking up to him, chanting that it was his fault, again, and again, and again. Shanks’s bloodstruck body, with a deep, big, bloody gash going through his body (showing how he failed the man he vowed to protect all his life), coming up to him and telling him in his captain’s voice what a big failure he was."

Summary added on 23/05/2025 - Ace 2.0 adopts his own brothers, seduces Marco and sets the timeline on fire. Good. (Or: My attempt at a time-travel fix-it where everybody lives, no one dies and Ace, now Stray, gets to rewrite fate with the family he never had.)

If that rubber idiot hadn’t needed rescuing as a kid, Ace wouldn’t be stranded on this frozen nightmare island thanking Shanks, and he definitely wouldn’t have been booted in the face by a rabbit the size of a small bear. He was just hungry, alright? But the New World doesn’t care about your supper plans, so now Ace is four, the rabbit is an old hag he’s lost all appetite for and his crew are taking him so seriously it’s almost embarrassing.
This story is a canon-diverging mess nobody asked for.
