Summary
There were many moments in Bruce’s life where time just seemed to… freeze. That night in the alleyway, a pearl necklace scattering at a snail’s pace across pavement pooling with his parents' blood. That was the first time. The horrified scream of the youngest Flying Grayson over the triumphant circus music, signaling what was happening before the bodies even hit the ground – that was another. The explosion in the distance in Ethiopia, watching the rising plume of fire and smoke with the deep terrible certainty that he was two minutes too late – that was another.
Entering Titan’s Tower to Tim’s bloodied body, with the words “No More Dead Robins” scrawled on the wall above him in his own blood? This was now the latest, the deep despair racing through him, wondering if this was it, he was in the process of losing another Robin.
Bruce didn’t think he could survive going through this again. -

Summary
“Arsène?” Goro sounded out, uncertain of the pronunciation with the accent mark. French perhaps? “Is that your original Persona?”
Akira nodded, a soft little smile curling his lip. “Yeah, that’s him.”
Goro read the name over again, furrowing his brow. Every Persona and shadow he’d ever encountered could be connected to a character of myth, legend, literature, art or history – borne from the collective minds of all the humans who have thought of the character in the past. It was how he’d ended up with Loki, the Norse god of mischief and lies, infamous for stealing from the other gods, and Robin Hood, a noble thief of English legend – the two warring sides of his splintered, damaged heart. But he didn’t recognize the name Arsène. It was definitely European in origin, but that was as far as Goro could decipher without pulling his phone out to Google it (and he wouldn’t give Akira that satisfaction.)
He wondered what the true self of Akira Kurusu could possibly resemble…
As though reading his thoughts, Akira leaned forward, those clever gray eyes sparkling in the light. “You want to meet him?”

“Why does she call you that?”
Akira blinked. “Huh?”
“Guinea pig.” Goro fixed him with a look, his expression completely unreadable, his voice quiet and emotionless. “Why does she call you that?
Something uneasy settled into Akira’s stomach as he looked into those maroon-brown eyes. “I, well, back during the Phantom Thieves, she and I had, yknow, a deal.”
“A deal,” Goro repeated impassively, turning away to look at the tile on the far side of the subway. If anything, he seemed even more stiff, face darkening. “One of your deals.”
------
Two years after the fall of the Metaverse, Akira and Goro get all dressed up to go see Goro's favorite musical, but a chance encounter with a certain doctor causes old wounds to resurface.

Summary
The first thing Ryuji was aware of was the cold touch of wet grass pressed to his face. The scent of it, coupled with the flavor of dirt and salt on his tongue.
He was freezing.
He moaned and rolled himself over onto his back. He could barely breathe, his heart pounding like a mallet swinging against his ribs. He blinked through hazy wet eyes, struggling to focus on anything. Above him was the gray dark haze of city lights on a blanket of cloud cover. His ears rang, a piercing shrill that blocked any other sounds that could be around him.
His first coherent thought was, Wow. I’m not dead.” But he couldn’t quite piece together why he was so certain he should be. He honestly was more than happy to just lay there, find his breath again (why was he so short of breath?) and wait for someone to find him (where were the others? Where was he?).
And then the pain hit.

Summary
“You’d like that, wouldn’t you?” Slade murmurs back absentmindedly, still focused on the knots at Grayson’s wrist.
Grayson makes another one of those sounds, somewhere between a gasp and a cough, like he’s trying to simultaneously swallow and eject something stuck in the back of his throat. “Jesus, kid, what the fuck is it this time?” Slade says.
“Yes,” Grayson chokes out. “What the fuck it is is yes, I’d like that, and stop asking me questions.”
