“You try it then,” Tighnari mocked, shoving his phone into Kaveh’s hands and addressing the food in front of him. “If my rank drops, it’ll be over for you.”
Kaveh was almost done with his food anyway, could one distraction really hurt? He used the meagre knowledge he had of Candy Crush, completely ignoring the power-ups on the side of the screen. And maybe he found it fun; maybe he gained an unprecedented enthusiasm when the word ‘victory’ was displayed across the screen in capital letters; and perhaps he felt a sense of pride when Tighnari’s bird mascot did a celebratory pose. He might’ve possibly understood why Tighnari was so captivated by the game just by that one win. Oh no.
“This means I’ve won, right?”
Or: Tighnari gets mad at not being able to beat his online rival, VultureVolans, and sarcastically asks a clueless Kaveh to help him

The moment his name is uttered, the alluring melody stops abruptly. The sudden change is dizzying, leaving him rather shaken, breath caught in his chest as he tries to regain his composure, both from the sudden change and the sound of his name.
Then, Kaveh turns, stunned, and sees Alhaitham leaning against a stone by the mouth of the cave, shirtless and looking slightly haggard; his face is flushed from exertion, his clothes ripped and dusty, his shoes discarded right beside him. He's panting; the wide expanse of his chest, bare and shining with a slight sheen of sweat, is rising up and down while he tries to catch his breath
Kaveh realizes he's in love. It probably shouldn't have have happened while dealing with a pod of sirens, but he can't be picky.

He’s a Haravatat, Kaveh thinks with no small amount of disdain. And…a grandmother’s boy, two years his junior, with a green thumb; a master of his craft, who’s never walked anyone else through his tiny, enchanting gardens. Maybe, just maybe, it balances out.
Kaveh isn't going into battle or anything, so it's not like he needs the absolute strongest potions he can get his hands on. It's just, like, you know, the shopkeeper is kinda hot and funny, when he's not busy running the most pretentiously named alchemical brewery in existence. Kaveh has room in his budget for a visit every now and again. With coffee.
