Summary
Seonghwa remembered the first time the blooms had fallen past his lips.
Hongjoong had shown up to his apartment for a movie night with a new man and introduced him as his boyfriend. While the rest of the group celebrated and asked the new couple questions Seonghwa had slipped off to the bathroom and knelt by the toilet so sure he was going to throw up. The bile never came, but a coughing fit did. A flurry of soft purple petals, bellflowers, he’d later learn, fell from his mouth, and floated on the top of the toilet water delicately.
Hanahaki disease.

Commander Park Seonghwa is seen as professional and ruthless, one of the best strategists of the Korean Navy.
There are very specific things he’s had to endure to become the person he is today. Things that have marked his journey as a man, as a sailor. He’s dealt with his father’s disappointment, he’s suffered hate and ridicule from his peers, he’s come face to face with the worst kinds of monsters humanity can offer, he's even looked Death directly in the eyes on several occasions.
Yet, very few things have shaken him up the way Captain Kim Hongjoong has.

Summary
Seonghwa doesn’t know what he did to deserve this life—this family, this home. This love that is his and Hongjoong’s—and Harin’s—to share. But he’ll spend the rest of his days making sure he never takes it for granted.
or,
Seonghwa never expected to co-parent with someone he barely tolerates. But after one bad blind date, years of forced proximity, and a tragedy that changes everything, he and Hongjoong are left raising their best friends' daughter together. Caught in the middle of sleepless nights and a grief too big to process, they do what they’ve always done: argue, adapt, and survive. But in the quiet moments—in the spaces in between when exhaustion turns into something different, something softer—Seonghwa starts to wonder if he ever really hated Hongjoong at all. Maybe he never did.Bookmarked by mooimeid
