Summary
Kenny has blue eyes, not like Stan’s. Not at all like Kyle’s which are freckled up close, a honey brown that gets lush under enough sun. Shit brown, Kyle says. Dirt brown, Stan corrects, and Kyle snorts like it’s a joke, but Stan doesn't mean anything more than this. The sort of soft he badly wants to sink both palms into, to plunge down dumb roots and grow.

Summary
Kenny isn’t devout. He supposes it’s hard to be when you’ve met Satan and given him love advice, but really, he thinks maybe some part of him is just flawed like that. It’d go well with the dying thing. A plentiful heap of what-the-fuck paired with a side of holy-cannoli. He’s on his knees in front of the window, though, hands clasped together and shaking. He hasn’t done this since he was maybe four, maybe five, but every movement is muscle memory.

Summary
Stan and Kyle had never really talked about it. About Kenny's death. At least, not maturely. By the time either had really grown up enough to be able to do that, they weren't really best friends anymore.
The grief suddenly hits Kyle hard, especially next to one of the people that had always been there when Kenny was. Kyle doesn't understand how the grief is even possibly hitting him this hard this fast, but it nearly feels exactly the same it did the moment Kyle's mom had woken him up gently to tell him that Kenny had passed away.
It's been years — fuck, it's been almost a decade — but looking at Kenny’s pixelated face brings it all rushing back. The hospital waiting room with its buzzing fluorescent lights. His mom's hand on his shoulder. The way Stan just... disappeared.
Kyle had forgotten. Or maybe he'd just buried it so deep he could pretend he'd forgotten. But here it is, preserved in 480p resolution, and Kyle feels thirteen again, confused and angry and desperately sad all at once.

Summary
Stan has his Friday nights structured out perfectly - Lucy goes home with her mom, and then he picks up Kyle for a romantic weekend of pissing off their neighbors.
Yet Kyle has locked himself away for days on end. Their siblings attempt to help without truly knowing the cause. An awful realization has put him into a spiral, and it's all Stan's fault.
