Summary
The new abbot is a sight of temptation. Father Bruce of Gotham—that’s how the bishop introduces him. Clark follows with dread as the brothers rise and, one by one, go up to greet the new head of the abbey. He cuts a dashing figure; tall and dark-haired, with a face like the beautiful sculpted angels adorning the sanctuary columns. Serene and serious.
