minesweeper storythis is both very ingenuous use of AO3 (doing what this fic does is possible???) and a gripping story.

Summary
There is no backup for the Signal.
Duke reminds himself of this regularly, like a prayer through gritted teeth: there's no one to catch him if he slips, to replace him if he stops. So the Signal can't give up. Just can't, like an immutable law, an undeniable truth. He has to win every fight. There isn't any other option.
Duke Thomas makes himself invincible. Untouchable.
Then he loses.

Summary
Somewhere in the garage, Jason squeaks to a stop again, but this time, there’s no shouted exclamations, and the footsteps don’t start again. Dick furrows his brow. It sounds like he stopped near the Japanese cars, and Dick can’t even remember what’s over there. He picks up his pace from where he had been meandering through the garage and beelines to where he thinks Jason is, the sudden silence unnerving him. God, what if something’s wrong, what if—
Jason is standing, arms frozen at his sides, breath shallow, jaw clenched tight, eyes the size of dinner plates. When Dick sees what he’s staring at, he can’t help the smirk. Jason turns his whole head to look at Dick and says, in a near whisper: “is that a Supra?”
“Yeah,” says Dick, “that’s the Supra.”
OR
Bruce requests that Dick try to bond with Jason before the adoption and leaves zero instructions on how to do that. Dick improvises.

Summary
Dick sounded amused. “You didn’t tell me you were coming.”
“You should have known.”
“Oh, I’m sorry. My latent psychic abilities haven’t kicked in yet,” Dick said. Then, as if the possibility was just occurring to him: “You told someone you were coming, right?”
Tim made a noise, vague enough for Dick to interpret however he wanted.
“Hey,” the next tug on the blanket was sharper, as was Dick’s voice. When he got the blanket down enough to see Tim’s face, he raised an eyebrow, repeating, “You told someone you were coming, right?”
Or: Tim and Bruce have a fight. Tim does the only logical thing and goes to Dick about it.

Summary
Tim knows he’s made a mistake. He knew the second he made it that what he had done could never be taken back, but the thing is - the thing is, this time he had... well. This time might not have been such a mistake after all.
(This time might actually have been on purpose, because he might secretly have been dreaming of bringing Robin back to life for months.)

A basic guide to CSS and HTML, dumbed down for my brain and yours, free gift included for the guy who’s name I know. I am far from expert, but I’m doing my best! First chapter is explanation and demonstration, second chapter is the raw CSS code for your copy-paste loving hands. Go on, rob me.
Note: I’ll be doing my CSS experiments here so I don’t muck up my updating fics. Just stay on the first three chapters and you’re fine.

“I’ll race you,” Kid Flash says out of the blue one afternoon. Superboy cocks an eyebrow. It’s not fair to be suspicious; logically, he knows that. But so far in his life he hasn’t been very good at being logical, and the invitation comes out of nowhere.

This is a live example of how an author can create linked footnotes in their work with only a little bit of HTML and no workskins required. This is best viewed by clicking "Entire Work". While I've included the actual coding in bold and italic once you click "Hide Creator's Style", there's a more detailed explanation here.
EDIT 6/28/17: The third chapter now shows how to use anchor links as an index/table of contents.

This is a tutorial/live example on how to create a "Choose Your Own Adventure" fic. While this has been explained before (see here), this particular tutorial shows you how to use a work skin to hide the next parts from the reader until they click through to get to them.

Here are some interesting features I developed for filtering works using site skins.
1. Showing only works in specified languages.
2. Hiding works by # of slash relationships.
3. Applying different filters based on which option you sort works by.
4. Applying different filters based on what items are checked off to include/exclude. -
