    The first thing magic theory capstone leads Murray Mag’nesson and Caleb Widogast notice about the three returning magical youth is that Milo and Demodus are wearing the same absolutely unhinged and joyous smile and Occtis is only a tiny bit less exuberant.

    The second is that they are all absolutely, entirely, completely, soaked. Milo’s curls cling heavily around their face and Occtis’s fine hair is dripping, inextricably, of pink.

    Or, three young magicians have completed a field exam that was definitely not an excuse to make them friends. Nuh uh. Murray denies everything.
