    Summary

There was a moment of blaring, earsplitting silence. "Wilbur, have you ever genuinely loved anyone? Or, at the very least, have you ever loved anything? At all?"

"Do morals count?" he asked quietly. He wished the floor would swallow him whole.

"I was hoping for something that can materialise—"

"L'Manberg was all my morals materialised." It all led back to the crater, always.

"... something that can love you back, Wilbur. Someone, or something, that you can love, and that can love you back."

in which Wilbur's plan to kill Ranboo backfires and he's forced to come to terms with his own loneliness instead.

    Summary

Jumping off is a lot worse than jumping on, An old, sun-tanned man had hummed one night, weeks before this. "'Lot more can go wrong, you could get sucked under, break a leg, hell, break your body if you jump too soon. Take it slow and don’t be afraid to wait for it to stop."

Wanderlust is a dizzying thing, it spins you around and throws you in all kinds of directions until the angry animal inside you is sated and decides to settle. Tubbo greets it as an old friend, takes it's hand, and lets it guide him across the continental United States. He's not running away, he just...Tubbo needed a change, okay? And maybe it comes in the freight trains he rides, or the old abandoned rail towns he combs through. Or maybe it's in a skunk-haired stranger, with a crusty patched jacket and eyes that tell a story their mouth never will.
    ----
Or, Tubbo doesn't quite have a home anymore, instead finding it in his wanderings and in the steady presence of a bum he calls 'Boo.'

    Summary

After finally releasing years of pent-up anger, Tubbo finds himself stumbling downtown to relax his mind, unknowing of the intrigue he inflicts upon a hidden monster.

Ranboo, after years of going without a proper meal, finds himself at a train station to take part in his nightly routine of people-watching, and- without intending to and loathing himself for- scouts out his next meal.

Apart, they’re a mess of bloodthirst and bloodshed. Together, blood spills in a different hue.

(or: Tubbo is unhinged and having a bit of a crisis and Ranboo is in a constant state of self-loathing and anxiety)

    Summary

“Actually,” Tubbo wasn’t sure if it was him or the vodka talking. He took a breath. “Do you think I’m a good parent?”

Ranboo didn’t need time to think. “Absolutely,” he said, he let his arms crawl under Tubbo’s shirt. “You’re an awesome parent. I don’t think I could parent Michael without you.” His sentence slowly traveled to silence.

    “But?”

“I don’t want to say it.” He circled his fingers on Tubbo’s stomach. “Because I know how hard you try, it’s just, sometimes you try too hard?” He left a silence to search Tubbo’s face, but it was as smoothed out as possible. “And you try so hard that you forget to see your successes, Michael’s successes, but they’re very much there.”

“Tommy said something like that too,” Tubbo bit his tongue. “Called me a helicopter parent. Maybe he’s right.”

“What do you think about that?” Ranboo asked. He sat upright and reached for his glass.

“At least I’m trying,” Tubbo said. Ranboo took a small sip of the purple drink. “Not much more I can do.”

    *****

Adjusting to living was one of the hardest things about life, but Tubbo, Tommy and Ranboo were trying.

Things are starting to look up, slowly.
