“I hope you like it,” Eddie says. The fox looks almost as surprised at the words as Eddie is. Still, he persists. Nothing else makes sense, so he may as well speak to the fox. “I don’t think I’m supposed to be good at cooking. I don’t even really know how I make the food. It just happens. I can’t taste it much. At all. I hope you don’t mind, anyways, but I guess foxes aren’t all that picky anyways.”
The fox takes another bite of food and then gives a gagging cough.
“Oh shut up. You didn’t complain any of the other times you ate my food.”

Summary
Buck had sent a text- something silly and insignificant and very Buck-like, and Eddie had just felt this flutter. Cue crisis of sexuality, feelings toward Buck, and other general panic. Eddie has a feeling this isn’t the sort of revelation you can just brute force your way through, because a good four and a half hours later, he’s more confused than he was initially, but he can at least admit one thing: he might be a little in love with Buck.

aka eddie coming to terms with sexuality & such. it all takes place as he's trying to go to bed at night (several nights, over the course of a few months) because isnt that where we all overthink our lives?

Today, with Buck still alive and safe, and with him grinning at her and saying “but I didn’t” to all her fears of what could have been, and with him alive and in his kitchen and so separate from Taylor. Today, with fear still running through her veins, and with her mind still coming up with what if hypotheticals, and with the memory of the moment she found Buck outside the hospital, blood still on his pants, still fresh in her mind.
Today, with its reminders that tomorrow is never promised to anybody.

“Oh, sorry,” David says quickly. Then, after a pause and a confused look sent Michael’s way, he elaborates, “Just, Michael had told me you two were dating.”
Well that’s a little weird. Buck doesn’t know Michael too well, but he’s talked to him a few times at group gatherings. Michael thought he and Eddie were a couple this whole time? He looks at the man in question quizzically.
“Well, that’s what May had told me,” Michael explains defensively. Buck and Eddie then turn their eyes to May, who looks a little like a deer in the headlights.
“Wait, but Mom said-”
Before the blame can even properly be placed on Athena, she interrupts. “Bobby told me himself that you two were dating.”
Finally, Buck and Eddie face Bobby questioningly.
“What do you mean, you aren’t dating?” Bobby asks, looking about as confused as everyone else.

The engravings of about 6 other names beckon the intrepid quest goers closer.
