Summary
Wei Ying has a lot on his plate right now.
It’s finals week -- which isn’t so bad. He’s never had to study much to do well in classes. But that just means that things are that much more tense with Jiang Cheng, who, as far as Wei Ying can tell, only takes study breaks long enough to glare at Wei Ying where he sits on the couch playing video games.
It’s not studies that have Wei Ying stressed out. It’s everything else. It’s the recruitment for the research trial he’s coordinating. It’s jiejie and her impending marriage to His Royal Douchebag Jin Zixuan. It’s the volunteer work at the palliative care facility. It’s Wen Ning’s worsening condition. It’s Wen Qing working herself thin to care for her brother and Wen Yuan. It’s the way Wen Yuan never seems to have enough food.
So, yeah. There’s enough on Wei Ying’s plate already, meaning it’s not entirely welcome when he comes home and finds a man standing in his bedroom. A man in extravagant white robes, a ribbon tied around his forehead, long hair gathered into a topknot, fist clutching a sword at his side, who asks him, “Where am I?”

By the time the world finally gets to admire Wang Yibo's Vogue shoot, Xiao Zhan has already had his own private reaction to every single photograph.

“Shit,” called out Wei Wuxian, more annoyed than scared. He knew his harness would catch him, but he was going to get in trouble for being distracted. He felt a sharp pinch between his legs as the harness did its work, followed by a snapping sound, and then he was suddenly hurtling towards the ground. He barely had the time to prepare for a bad landing, when he suddenly found the handsome man rushing towards him impossibly fast. He was going to crush him, but there was nothing he could do. Smack! He awkwardly landed into the man's arms, but with the momentum of his fall. As the man flew backwards, he tucked in his head and rolled back dispersing the force of Wei Wuxian’s landing. Together they rolled several times before he came to a stop, landing on top of his saviour.
Despite the situation, the man wore no expression at all and his breathing had barely changed. Amber eyes bore into him, ice cold. Wei Wuxian felt the powerful flutter of something in his chest. It was probably just the adrenaline.

Xiao Zhan raises an alarmed eyebrow. “You want to kiss other people?”
Yibo’s eyes go wide, a scandalized look on his face. “No, of course not! I wouldn’t want to kiss anyone else. Just Zhan-ge. I’m just saying—” He tugs Xiao Zhan close and gives him his best sultry look. “Just imagine,” he purrs, dropping his voice lower, “all the different ways we could experience the thrill of that first kiss.”
“Oh? Now that’s an idea,” Xiao Zhan smiles in that flirty way that never fails to make Yibo’s knees go a little weak. “Different ways we could have had our first kiss? The delicious anticipation of will-he-or-won’t-he—” Xiao Zhan brushes his lips whisper-light across Yibo’s cheek… then leans away, his eyes dancing with mischief when Yibo turns towards the sensation to chase the almost-kiss.
“Ge!” Yibo protests. “Stop teasing and kiss me already!”
