The dead of night, with inconceivable implacable thoughts that dread to drown out any sense of self-worth - wandering through the stark of dark, meaningless to the point of compromise and misnomer. That what she feels, be it inexplicability, trepidation or desolation, such over the course rigid lines of her heart, tethered open by who she calls a monster, tasted and abused and bled, alone. Palm over chest, sighing into the crevice of rope bound to walls and plack along thread, liquid seeping between claws, staining the carpeting blue.
Blinks with draught, oversharing to the vacant world, yet room full with a breathing mammalian beside herself - warm and pulsing, claws cupped into a pool of Nula’s own blood, thereof she allowed to be taken. Their face remains unbothered, even with heavy breaths looming over the curve of its structure - dead to everyone but themselves. How must it be to share a thought so worry-free - perplexity but a hobby for contemplation, for the sake of it all? But then again, she doesn't have the privilege to think of stuff such as this, even during hours she were to be considered free.

Walking by the seaside near their Science base, Stanley wondered if the harsh waters could wash down whatever uncomfortable feeling was inside his friend’s throat.

A dry huff escapes Senku's lips as he points the piece of lab equipment in his hand at Gen, looking both provocative and utterly detached all at once. "That depends on whether you plan on distracting the team every single day like you're doing right now. »
"That's ean-may, Senku-chan. I haven't seen anyone in so long!"
"Yeah, yeah," Senku says, digging a pinky into his ear. "Doesn't change the fact that I'm the only one working here."
"I'll have you know your best friends are literally getting married as we speak, you shouldn't even be working in the first place!"

or: Gen returns to Japan after two years as a diplomat, only to realize how much he’s missed. Now he’s stuck dealing with both his nostalgia and his conflicted feelings.

Summary
When they’d first met, just after Ryusui had been revived, Ryusui had made his move. He wasn’t one to wait. He’d found Ukyo finishing up making a new batch of arrows, had snapped his fingers in front of his face, and leaned in, flashing a grin and said, plainly, “I desire you.”
It usually worked. Or if not worked, at least provoked a reaction. A blush, a laugh, annoyance - something. Ryusui was a lot, and he knew it. But he was also handsome, clever, and confident enough to get away with being a lot. People reacted.
Instead, Ukyo had raised a single eyebrow and said, “I’m a wait-for-the-third-date kind of guy,” in the same tone he might use to comment on the weather. Then he’d turned and walked off to go spar with Kohaku, leaving Ryusui standing there like a fish gasping on the beach.

Ukyo's pretty clearly not impressed with Ryusui. And that would be fine, except Ryusui has started to cough up flowers, and Ruri's telling him it's because he's in love with someone who doesn't love him back.
