“I am not,” Zuko goes on, aggressively stuffing the set into his bag, “painting you pictures of women!”
“Or you could paint some lovely young men,” Uncle suggests as they walk, “if that’s your preference—”
“I am leaving you here,” Zuko hisses.
“But you are bothering me,” Zuko says. “And I have been actively avoiding bothering you.“

Summary
Before the time of the Avatar the spirits danced. As the humans grew, they learned from the dances and eventually made it their own. They gained the gifts of elements from the spirits who fell in love with their dance. In order to keep balance between those with different gifts, the Avatar was not the only spirit that moved through humans. The spirits of the major elements also bonded themselves to a human vessel, much like the Avatar spirit. That souldbonded human was to serve as the link between the great spirit and the human world. They were also meant to be the teachers of the Avatar to assist in keeping balance in a world full of wonder and power.
That was true, until everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked.

| He finds a towel and presses it against Kim’s arm. Kim opens his eyes and blinks blearily at Kinn.....Papa is the reason Kim is like this, and it fills Kinn with a burning rage he’d never before felt directed towards his Papa.
But Kim doesn’t need his anger, his fear, his messy emotions.
Kim needs Kinn to be his hia, and he needs Kinn to be the heir...
..There was more to do to protect Kim—from himself and from Papa...
..Kim will be free. And Kinn will inherit everything he has been working towards since his birth.

| He feels Vegas kneel next to him, and when he’s confident he won’t heave again, he turns his head to look at his cousin.
Vegas looks pissed.
“What.” Kim grinds out.
“What the fuck are you doing here?” Vegas demands.
“Kinn is sick.” Kim says shortly. “Father asked me to attend in his stead.” | Ch.13
| “Kim, you can’t just say something like that and then not give me more information. You make it sound like your father would hurt me or something crazy.”
Kim wrings his hands together, flicking his eyes between a spot on the covers and Porsche. His silence stretches and Porsche starts to get bad feeling.
“Kim? You don’t think he would hurt me, do you?”..
..“No. Probably not.” Kim hesitates, then, “But he might hurt me.” | Ch. 22
| Vegas tugs him away, through the archway to the room, and Kim tries to ask what he’s doing, but he coughs instead, throat irritated by the chokehold his father held him in.
They’re stopped by Chan, who looks critically at the hold Vegas has on Kim.
“Khun Kim. I’ll take you home.” Chan says.
“I can handle it,” Vegas brushes him off, pushing Kim forward, but Chan steps in the way, blocking the path.
“I really must insist.” Chan says, unrelenting.
“Fucking fine.” Vegas huffs, “Kinn and his fucking rules.”..
..Porsche was showing Kim that there could be another way, that even if he had earned a punishment, he had never deserved what his father had done.| Ch. 31
|“Why do you only call me at two in the morning?”
“That’s the only time you’re guaranteed to pick up.” Kim responds.
“Moving forward, I will no longer answer your calls at two, stop having your fucking crises this late.” Vegas complains. Kim can hear the rustling of plastic in the background...
...“Your boyfriend has tamed you. So polite now.”
“Fuck off.”
“That’s more like it, Kimmy.”
Kim makes a face. Vegas hasn’t called him that in years..
..“You’re my present, phi. I don’t want anything else.”| Ch. 36

‘I have to succeed,’ Yukio thought. ‘And not just for Rin. If I fail those kids are all going to end up dead.’
“There is nothing I wouldn’t sacrifice for Rin!”
Shura swallowed then gave Yukio a cool look. “And when are you planning on forgiving your brother for all those sacrifices he never asked you for?”
“We already know Okumura here,” Shima remarked. “We’re friends with the brother he practically murdered.”
“So stubborn,” Yuri sighed. “But you certainly come by it honestly. Your family tree is over-flowing with terribly, wonderfully stubborn people.”
“Listen up brats!” Amaimon shouted as the boy howled in pain. “I’m the Earth King and I’m your uncle so settle down and behave!”
