Max was doing his best to try and soothe Charles in his arms. Hands moving slowly in circles on his back. It was never easy for Max to watch Charles come home to him after races like these. Exhausted. Emotionally drained. Pouring his heart out for a team who wasn’t giving it back. A team who used him.
“I’m sorry about your race, Charles. I know you wanted better today. I wanted that for you too.”

Lando was exhausted, and really didn’t want to wake someone up to come fix it. So he just sighed, “yeah, no worries. I’m sure we can figure it out for tonight. It’s almost tomorrow already.”

“Hello.” An accented voice came from behind Lando.
“Hello,” Lando responded meekly, like a child caught drawing on the walls. He didn’t turn around just yet, already eager to plan his escape before the unknown figure could see his face.
“It doesn’t bite, by the way- the bike, that is- although, it was entertaining to watch you jump a mile. It won’t hurt you.” He recognised the accent immediately; there was only so much hanging around Daniel you could do before you became accustomed to an Australian’s way of language.
“Could’ve fooled me,” Lando scoffed. “That orange is enough to scar someone’s eyes. Someone could probably claim against that.”
“I don’t know about that, but sure.” The man gave a small laugh.

Lando is a florist in Harlow Street, a close community town, and Oscar is the new tattoo artist that caught his attention.

“I said, ‘Have you ever shaved before?”
“What, like my face?”Oscar looks at Lando perplexed. Lando's known for saying some weird stuff. But this is even weirder. It would be a totally normal topic of conversation to anyone else, but to Oscar, who knows Lando, this is weird for even him.
“No, I don't really need to.” He could shave. But he would much rather spend a few extra minutes in bed than hunched over a sink, looking like a bad Santa.
“Why do you ask?”
Lando flops back on the bed, shifting his feet. Oscar can feel his ankle bones move against his shins. There's a long pause and Oscar thinks that Lando was just curious about his shaving habits.
“Do you want to shave me?”
