Summary
Woonhak's four years old when he stumbles across the 2011 South Korean Grand Prix.
It hooks him instantly- he’s transfixed, his small face alight with wonder, staring at the screen in admiration as the cars race through the track, going what seems to be impossibly fast as they weave and dodge the others on the circuit in brightly colored cars and helmets.

Summary
“It’s October fourth,” the man says softly, “Happy birthday! One, two, three!” They blow out the candles together, smiling. Huh , Woonhak thinks, this isn’t too bad.
Suddenly, there’s a knock at the door. Woonhak looks up, but it’s coming from the video. He looks back down to see the man get up to answer it. “Hello?” he asks.
The woman starts screaming, startling him. “Who are you?” She cries out, “Why are you doing this to us?”

Summary
When designing Alexander Gabriel Claremont-Diaz, God must have forgotten to include an off switch.
Alex doesn’t stop. It almost seems as if he doesn’t know how.
Henry, to his credit, has always been able to force him to slow down before he burns out entirely.
It’s not an arduous or tiresome task. Quite often, it’s the opposite. In Henry’s mind, there’s nothing as holy as witnessing Alex fall apart completely underneath his practiced fingertips.

Summary
It took Choi Jeongyo five steps to come back to his senses.
Five steps away from Kang Jihye, and only a few more than that from Pio.
Pio, whose stricken face was still painfully fresh in his mind—drained of color, lips parted, eyes glassy. Pio, who’d looked at him across the crowded living room as if every key Jeongyo struck were a knife between his ribs. Pio, the only person in this whole damn house he actually cared about, and probably the only one who actually cared about him—not just as an investment or a protégé or some poster-child prodigy but as a person. The only one who still cared about his existence when there was no piano in sight. The only person he really, truly trusted.
Pio, who was alone. Alone, and in pain, and Jeongyo was walking away.
He stopped dead in his tracks.
(In which Jeongyo refuses to leave his closest friend to suffer alone, no matter what Kang Jihye says. My alternate ending for episode 4.)

That day at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics, Alex comes across the very same Prince Henry who just dismissed him having a panic attack in a bathroom. The choice Alex makes then has ripple effects neither of them could have ever expected. What's the story like, when they actually are friends all along?
“So, you’re going back to England tonight, and you’ll spend the next three days pretending you two are the closest and best of friends until we can put this mess behind us.”
And there are reasons he hasn’t told anybody this, good reasons, even though he’s sure June and Nora saw through him ages ago. Faced with his mom’s disappointment, though, and with the realization that the entire world apparently thinks he hates Henry and would willingly shove him into a fucking cake, he can’t stay quiet.
“But we are friends,” he says, vehement and serious. “We have been for years. He’s—he’s probably my best friend, actually, along with Nora.”

Summary
After one last peck, Henry finally pulls away, leaving a sore spot of hollowness where his touch had filled it before. Alex forces his face to stay even– he doesn’t want his boyfriend to feel guilty for doing what he needs to do, doesn’t want to feed into the assumption that Alex is helpless without him.
Doesn’t want to be another obligation in Henry’s life that will one day grow to be too much to shoulder.
When the door falls shut, leaving Alex alone with a house that is much too empty and silent without his family there, there’s a lump in his throat that he can’t quite swallow. He thinks of Nora, making jokes that Henry is a saint for putting up with him during exam season; he thinks of June who uprooted her entire life to take care of him during college– and finally, he thinks of Henry, gentle and perfect Henry, that has had to worry about others way too much in his life– and a stinging sense of dread settles over him.

Henry laughs, wiggling his fingers as he reaches for the bottle before taking a sip of his own, “Fine. Never have I ever…been walked in on during sex.”
Alex shakes his head with a shudder, “I’ve walked in on too many people. Door stays locked.”
“Wise man.”
Alex taps his fingers against his chin, pursing his lips. His expression falters for a moment, eyes shooting over to glance at Henry before returning to stare out the window, “Never have I ever…had sex in a treehouse.”
Neither of them drink.
“Huh.” Alex says, eyes unreadable, “Do you want to?”
Henry has made many mistakes in life - most notably allowing Pez to talk him into an ill-advised keg stand that made him vomit all over his shirt - but he can’t bring himself to regret sleeping with Alex Claremont Diaz, campus' most renowned player.
Until Alex gets it into his head that he wants seconds, and Henry isn’t strong enough to not get feelings, so he does what he does best. He pushes him away.
But Alex isn’t one to give up easily.
