Summary
Bobby doesn’t know when it started, when mere observation became attraction — dare he say affection. Maybe it began when Nigel helped him replace a shot tire; or when he first called him ‘bunny,’ inspired by the case Bobby was working on at the time. Or maybe it was when Nigel offered him a glass of whiskey, a perfectly rolled joint alongside a wolfish grin, saying, “On the house.” Who knows, maybe it began the night they first met, the two of them loitering in a bar toilet, drunkenly sharing reds, lighters, and horror stories of their failed marriages and subsequent divorces.
Bobby develops feelings for his friend, Nigel. Problem is, they’re both straight as far as he knows.

“You’re bleeding,” Hannibal mutters, turning on the faucet and unwrapping the towel around his finger under the stream.
Will stares at the red swirling into the drain. He stares at Hannibal’s firm grasp around his wrist. His neatly filed fingernails and long, pale fingers and he remembers exactly what distracted him earlier until the blade passed through his epidermis:
Hannibal pressing the pad of his thumb to the underside of his lower lip. He wasn’t biting the nail exactly but it's easily mistaken as such whenever he’s engaged in this nervous habit of his.
