Set post canon. While everything has calmed down after the incident at the Armory, they still need to deal with the aftermath.
Zhou Zishu pictures himself leisurely strolling by some unnamed river with Wen Kexing close by his side, mouth spewing ridiculous flirtations masked as poetry. He envisions the flowers falling like snow around them, dancing with but never quite touching the figure in red who keeps calling out A-xu, A-xu in that loud vivacious tone. Imagines waiting for the right moment to crowd this little pestilence against a tree and shut him up with a bruising kiss.
The resulting longing he feels is so devastating it makes him want to draw blood. He presses his face into Wen Kexing’s neck, mouth lingering against the pulse point to feel the dazzling promise of life.Alive. He is alive.
