Hell, his dad was passed out stone cold drunk, so it might even have been safe to stay home. But Johnny doesn’t want to be home, or in the lot, or even at the Curtises’. He wants to be here.

Summary
A sharp, shark-like smile spreads across Dally’s face and Johnny’s heart goes from hammering to thundering, echoing in his ears. Johnny knows that Dallas ain’t gonna do nothing horrible, he likes to rile him up, tease him, sure, but the older teen tries to dial it back when it’s just them. He’s good like that, watches out for Johnny and he sure does appreciate it. Because Dallas Winston is at the top of the food chain; strong, hard-hitting, and, most importantly, smart. Not always rational, but smart, he puts things together quick and is even faster with a punch.
But even with that rationale, his nerves aren’t soothed. They’re never soothed, and Dally has made him nervous for a whole host of different reasons for a long time now.
