The streets were quiet and empty with hardly anyone else around. Various songs drifted out from open windows, the people in their houses enjoying a late night breeze. A bonfire in the distance filled the air with the smell of burning leaves. All around, Luca could smell the strong scent of pasta, and he closed his eyes as he breathed it in.
It brought him back to his first summer above water. The memories of dancing with Alberto to his newly fixed phonogram, a fire pit the two would sit around for hours telling stories, and every small meal they were able to share at Massimo’s table.
Luca smiled fondly, happy to remember that every step of the way had been taken alongside Alberto. His heart squeezed, overflowing with a surge of affection that made Luca even more excited to return to his side.

Sensing her unease, Kusuo’s lips pulled into a smirk. ‘Scared? Having a change of heart already?’
It would be a lie to say that she wasn’t afraid of him, like one was taught to be afraid of hurricanes and earthquakes. But he didn’t strike her with the same kind of raw, tangible fear as her brother did. Makoto had no apparent powers, but when he walked into a room and glanced in her direction, Kokomi wanted to tear off her own skin. Kusuo, even with all his abilities, did not affect her in the same way.
“No.” Kokomi answered, an unexpected roughness tinging her voice. “There are worse people out there.”
The smirk slipped away from Kusuo’s face. It was a strange sensation, to not be regarded as the monster in the story this time.
Then, what was he?
In which Kusuo is fine playing a pretend villain and just wants to be left alone. Too bad the pesky runaway princess won’t let him be.

Reki knows his soulmate's name is Langa, but also knows it's very unlikely that snowboarding star Langa Hasegawa is his soulmate. Still, he keeps up on news about the guy and when he learns that Langa's father was killed in an accident, he starts sending him letters. Drawings, really, that he can't admit to himself are love letters. He just hopes they brighten Langa's day, if he's receiving them at all.
Everything gets turned upside-down, however, when that same Langa Hasegawa suddenly transfers to Reki's school. It'll make giving him the anonymous love letters a bit easier, though...
