Summary
Peridot Diamond is a nerd and a loser but rarely stays inside, until she suffers an injury and refuses to leave her house. So, her mother signs her up for therapy and Peridot makes a promise to give it a try, but doubts she’ll gain much from it.
Lapis Lazuli has a pretty decent life, though her pain and subsequent hiding of it begins to take a toll on her social life and mental health. So she makes a promise to give therapy another try, hoping she’ll gain more than her previous attempts.
They both believe nobody in the world will understand what they’re going through.
However they quickly—or not so quickly—realize they’ve got more in common with each other than previously thought. Will they be able to find solitude in one another, or will this simply be one more horrible experience to add to their lists? Come read and find out!

Amidst the vastness of the galaxy, Lapis drifted. She had flown into the vacuum, desperate to escape the Diamond's wrath, yet weighed down by the sum of all she left behind. No matter what she did, or how far she flew, nothing of the past really escaped her mind, and for the moment, she had no one but herself to turn to in the confines of outer space itself.
All the while, Lars and the Off-Colors kept themselves together as best as they could. Having dodged everything from Elite Citrines to Emerald and her associate's fleets, they finally find themselves in the Milky Way, closer than ever to Earth. Despite the hope of this moment, the fear of an imperial ship standing in their way lingers in their mind, as their flight from Homeworld has taken its toll on the Sun Incinerator, and it's residents.
Despite the vastness of the galaxy, and against all odds, these two would come across each other. Whether or not they would band together was a matter of their own design.

“Don’t you even TRY it, you dick, I’ll stuff this up your -!”
Gregory paused, staring.
The weird cat-salamander thing that had come up behind him, all blue and pink with the biggest purple eyes Gregory had ever seen, stared back, unblinking. He SWORE he could see it vibrating in place, like the rush of a million sugar highs was rushing through its body all at once. It didn’t seem bothered by the rain, water rolling off its back, and the boy felt suddenly, unfairly jealous at it’s obvious lack of discomfort when here HE was, standing there, shivering and miserable and soaked to the bone.
“What the hell are YOU supposed to be?” He snapped.
It squeaked. Gregory stared into those huge eyes, pupils big enough to see his soul reflected back in them, and balled up the old sock and threw it at the thing before bolting off into the rain.
The sock hit him in the back of the head with a wet splat a second later, and the pitter-patter of little paws followed him back to his box.
OR: Gregory adopts/is adopted by a bunch of Slugcats. The animatronics (and Peepaw Afton) are not prepared.
