Summary
Shinsou Hitoshi has been dealt the shittiest cards in life, and is completely expected not to cause a scene? You do not survive what he has and walk away healthy-- Normal people live without anger, and it's only a testament to Hitoshi's character that he's able to appear like them with the vat of sorrow that simmers beneath his skin.

Summary
It’s ironic, he thinks, how bright his father burns. How his presence commands an entire room. How much of his life is occupied by him. Endeavor’s fire burns through them all, in flames, in anger, in the hurt they bring. He’s the reason Touya died, the reason his mother is locked up in a hospital and the reason Natsuo and Fuyumi could never have a proper family.
Shouto’s imagined his own undoing so many times. He often wonders, as Endeavor’s creation, if he’ll go up in flames, a spectacle for all to see, or if he’ll fizzle out in silence until there’s nothing left but ash. A masterpiece falling from grace. Sometimes he even wonders if one day he’ll burn himself up like Touya had. He imagines Endeavor’s reaction, as he once again conceals a dead Todoroki and continues to live without guilt for the children he destroyed.
In the end, his unravelling begins with a single drop of blood.
Alternatively: after moving into the dorms and finally learning how to relax, the years of abuse Shouto suffered at the hands of Endeavor finally start to catch up to him and he finds himself not knowing how to handle it.

He’d admitted, more than once, that he still sometimes felt like he wasn’t enough, that his hardening wasn’t flashy or versatile enough compared to the rest of their class. Bakugou would grunt, call him an idiot, and remind him in his own gruff way that he was the only partner he trusted to have his back. Aizawa, too, had noticed the occasional dip in Kirishima’s usual boundless energy during homeroom check-ins and had quietly offered extra mentoring sessions. But no one knew the true extent of how deep the darkness could go.

Denki hits the Top 50 Heroes list first, Hitoshi finds himself part of a viral video that spirals into online fame, and Katsuki can't seem to stop recklessly throwing himself into danger. Becoming pro-heroes is off to a great start, that's for sure. There's no way that anyone is hiding anything, right?

Holy fucking fuck I love them so bad and how heritage and legacy and upbringings are so finely intertwined to to not just the boys but everything around them and what they do with names and language and oh god
And the way mental health is approached? Hello oh my god? It’s so specific to the characters and their personalities and I love how a picture perfect comfort scene wasn’t just given without the boys having to fight through their own barriers for it because they themselves aren’t perfect
Also also when Robert says goodbye oh good lord my heart dropped and then he’s suddenly on this ultra private mission like is this Hawks and the HPSC all over againI read most of this in one night, had a dream about it, then read the final three chapters
