Not to me.
There’s a new dangerous drug plaguing the streets of Bludhaven and it’s beginning to trickle into Gotham. Similar to opioids, and some deliriants, it has the capability to devastate both cities. But the most perplexing effect of the drug is the risks of detoxing from the drug.
At first, when Nightwing found reports of dead bodies showing up with trace amounts of the drug in their system, he assumed it was overdoses. But further studies of the drug have found that if those addicted to the drug go too long without taking another dose (around a 12 hour window), their body shuts down, ending with cardiac arrest.
With the stakes even higher, Nightwing jumps at the opportunity to investigate a tip he’d received about a new shipment coming in. He’d be fine without backup, the Bats in Gotham were busy handling an Arkham breakout and it was just recon. He was fine, that is, until he was caught and dosed with the drug during the ensuing fight.Now he needs to figure out how to find a cure, find and stop the main supplier of the drug, all while keeping his new accidental addiction from his nosy family. No biggie right? If only the withdrawals weren’t so fucking crippling.

Not so long ago, not so far behind that it can disappear into the distance. Close enough that it scrapes against bone if he breathes in too deep; if his heart beats just a little too fast. Or, if it doesn’t beat at all.
Seizing, pausing, stopping dead. A cold lump between his lungs, full of tar. Watching Roy’s face shift, watching him smile without it ever reaching his eyes. The way they crinkle is forced and mechanical, like he’s trying to convince the observer that all is well.

It’s better, after all, to go out in a blaze of glory, than to simply fade away.
OR: After the events of Batman v1 #408, Dick loses the use of his arm, and Robin, in one fell swoop. Meanwhile, Ollie’s left for good, and Roy’s in a downward spiral of his own.
In other words, Dick heads to Atlantic City, ‘’with Bruce’s credit card in one pocket, and Roy in the other.’’
