But if he had been asked, Ilya would have approved of this prank. He would have authorized it, given Cliff and Vicky his seal of approval, perhaps even helped orchestrate it.
Any other day, Ilya might have been happy to play along.
But, in perfect dramatic irony, it had not happened any other day. It had happened today. And, cherry on top, of course the rookie had to walk in when Shane was already freaking out about Ilya saying his name.

“Coming!” he calls out in Spanish, letting the suitcase slam short with a tired huff. He pads over through his thin hallway and tugs the door open, bringing one hand up to run through his hair only for his arm to fall to a heavy thud when he sees Kageyama Tobio on the other side.
“Fuck,” Tooru says, his voice stuttering right over the Spanish back to Japanese, and then completely on instinct, he slams the door shut on Tobio’s face.
Tobio follows Tooru to Buenos Aires after the Tokyo Olympics. Not even nine years can prepare either of them for this.

Summary
If there’s one thing Miya Atsumu can’t tolerate, it’s love. His thoughts are, in brief: that love is a scam, marriage is a pyramid scheme, and relationships are for people who can’t get laid. So it’s just his luck that two weeks to the end of the V.League season, his no good, very rotten twin tells him he’s getting married—and that Atsumu is his best man.
Since Atsumu’s life is objectively the worst, he will now have to contend with a variety of things he would rather die than deal with. Among them are: wedding venues, an endless list of best man duties, Suna Rintarou’s vaguely menacing energy, Ushijima fucking Wakatoshi, Osamu being in love, and ALL of his exes…in the same room.
If that isn’t bad enough, he’s being haunted by the world’s most annoying ghost.
With a few immersive spectral flashbacks, a significant amount of guilt tripping, and some borderline unforgivable fuckboy behavior, Atsumu will have to face his past, try (?) to become a better person, not punch a ghost, and somehow get back the only boy he’s ever loved…before it’s too late.

Summary
Atsumu falls asleep after comforting a distraught Kiyoomi only to be told that he must make a choice: zap his twin out of existence or erase his high school sweetheart relationship with Kiyoomi. Unable to live a life without Osamu, Atsumu begrudgingly chooses to live a life where he and Kiyoomi never got together to begin with.
While he sees that Kiyoomi is fundamentally the same, Atsumu quickly learns that in his previous timeline, he’d gotten too comfortable in the length of their relationship. Right under his nose, Kiyoomi had been making small changes that Atsumu hadn’t paid attention to. Now he sees just how much he could have done differently.
As the pair grow closer, Kiyoomi gets ever so slightly more skittish. The sudden retraction makes Atsumu turn to Misery—the being that made him choose—this time full of rage and accusing them of ruining his life.
Only then does Atsumu learn the truth behind why he had to choose between the two most important people in his life. Fit with this new knowledge Atsumu has to reconcile his new reality with a past that doesn’t belong to this version of Osamu and Kiyoomi.

Summary
Whenever the shouting and tension in Iwaizumi Hajime’s home become unbearable, he can run away to his best friend. If not for Oikawa by his side, always shoulder to shoulder, he would fall apart. They compete, they have fun, they play volleyball and the world is a great place after all. Still, the situation at home heads inevitably towards a disaster and, in the meantime, Iwaizumi develops some very unwanted feelings for his best friend, which is another catastrophe in its own right. But Iwaizumi will manage, as he always has, he is strong like that and doesn't need help. Or does he?
Or: the story about Iwaizumi and Oikawa becoming the most important people in each other’s life, throughout the years, schools, relationships, jobs, continents and whatnot. About healing and love that saves.

So he loves in secret, in the remote quiet of his head and over the long distance separating him and Hinata Shouyou, a man who probably doesn’t think of Atsumu at all. He dreams of a future he’s not sure he can ever have.
