Selfish. He was so selfish. To think he could ever indulge in something like this, someone like Trey, a human, when his lips were so stained with blood, his mouth so dreadfully contaminated.
There was so much he hadn’t told Trey, so much he’d kept to himself. And despite how often Jade used such a tactic, deception was not something he wished to use on Trey; the human didn’t deserve a partner who only knew how to lie, after all, even if he wanted Jade the same way Jade wanted him.
A part of him wished Trey would understand. Trey, who had been the only one to stay and listen to Jade’s rants, Trey, who still treated him like any other person, despite all the rumors around him—that same Trey, perhaps, would continue to stay if Jade told him now, would continue to kiss Jade until all the worries of his mind disappeared.
But Trey was still human, and their relationship was merely surface-level.
In which Jade has a secret he can never tell Trey.

spectacular fic. from the descriptions, to the relationship developing, to just— everything. because this is a public bookmark, i'm gonna make the recommendation that if you have a weak stomach... maybe make sure you're not eating while reading, LOL. but the nature of this entire fic is just so utterly fascinating to me. how that story in jade's childhood affected him, along with the book.... wow. AND how it all loops back around at the end? gorgeous. 10/10 will be downloading as soon as possible.
(also... totally called rook's involvement at the end there 😂 though i was moreso thinking mince meat pies a la sweeney todd, if you catch my drift)

Dabi sat back on Keigo’s thighs and sighed a wispy cloud of steam, and Keigo’s stupid brain jumped from adrenaline to arousal mortifyingly fast. That should not have been as hot as it was. Or hot at all!
But again, he’d reflect on his stupid after he was far, far away from this messed-up situation.
“Can I start over? I mean,” Dabi dragged a hand through his hair and laughed, “not from the whole kidnap part of course, but the explaining part.”
Watching a bird overhead dart from the safety of one tree to the next, Keigo sighed and motioned for Dabi to go ahead. He might as well find out why the hell he was here, trapped under a villain outside of the fucking League of Villain’s base!
“I need you to help me steal something.” Dabi paused, and leaned over to right Keigo’s camera bag like a gesture of goodwill before nonchalantly adding, “from Endeavor.”

"wow cy youre reading marvel fic despite not knowing anything of the mcu franchise" YES i AM and im NOT SORRY. this fic made me cry multiple times and WOW are those memory issues. more than relatable. congratulations to this fic for making it onto my public bookmarks list. it DESERVES it quite frankly
author if you ever see this: you did good. it takes a LOT to get me to read a time loop + heavy angst fic all the way through without getting too close to my feelings and making me run away — hell, normally i dont even READ the fic, i just see "time loop" and nope the hell out of there. this? this is a marvel (heh) of engineering, honestly; and i have nothing but praise for it. five stars, 25/10, if youre on the fence about reading/finishing this, DO IT. that happy ending tag can sometimes seem impossible but i swear to you it DOES HAPPEN. absolutely fantastic if the marvel movies were like this i mightve watched them /hj GOOD JOB
