Summary
Greta sees Carson everywhere. She’s not stupid, she knows she’s not there. She knows Carson is in Idaho, or Chicago, or California, finding herself, like she deserves to after years of conforming to what everyone else wants. She knows she’s not here, but still, everywhere she looks, she sees Carson. It starts with clients at Vivienne’s store. She’ll look down the lash aisle and there, looking at mascara is a head of dark hair, having to stand on her tiptoes to reach whatever she’s looking for. For a moment, her heart will race in her chest, her hands will clam up, but the face turns, and it’s not her, and she’s forced to catch her breath and hope no one notices the way she tensed.
