Summary
Aaron now knows that his life without Robert is just empty, a void. He'd always know it, really, ever since he'd first fallen in love with the man. Aaron didn't need to lose Robert to know it to be the truth, but he had. And if Aaron had anything to do with it, he wasn't ever going to lose him again.

Summary
There are moments when Aaron will look at Robert and wonder how much of him actually came back from prison. Robert keeps a routine, strict and unyielding, nowadays. Aaron will blink awake to Robert slipping out of the bedroom door, he’ll come home from the scrapyard to catch Robert washing up his dishes and heading out again. They have vast fields and herds of cattle to tend to so it’s easy for Robert to get lost out there. Lost to Aaron, at least, looking out of the back-facing window to try and get a glimpse of his husband who always seems to be on his way out when Aaron enters.
