Summary
Shadowheart in a dark suit, starring out a window of her lavish apartment overlooking Paris. Viconia gives her another job, she takes it but it doesn’t give her the rush of adrenaline it used to.
156 kills. Yet Tav is the only one that sees it. No one else believes Tav when she says they are the work of an assassin, let alone a woman. Jaheira approaches, ignores Tav’s messy wardrobe and sassy comments, and tells her she believes Tav. Beyond that - the assassin likely works for Shar.
Viconia tells Shadowheart - “you are being noticed.” It makes Shadowheart’s eyes widen and light up. Her heart thrums in her chest. Someone is appreciating her work. Shadowheart finally feels seen.

Summary
Shar's forces have prospered under their new Mother Superior in the years following the Absolute crisis. Tav had witnessed the atrocities carried out in Shar's name. How could she not be to blame for spilled Selunite blood, when she helped the Mother Superior become who she is?
Tav failed her Lady of Silver multiple times over. When Jaheira approached her to give her a way to atone for her sins, Tav seized it. Physically transformed by a powerful ring, her task is to infiltrate the Cloister of Solemn Embrace as an initiate to the Church of Shar and find out what Shadowheart is plotting.
Memory loss, darkness, and buried feelings threaten Tav's mission and her life. Being closer to Shadowheart, something she once prayed could be possible, she must come to terms with the monsters she created or succumb to the darkness that tempts her.

“Stop.” Rumi holds up a hand, grinning, flushed. “We’re going to get banned from TV.”
