The letter that contained the news was slightly crumpled in the corner, though now it sat pristinely at the very front and center of the Grand Master’s desk, from the anemo allogene’s desperately eager grip.
The words, only contained within two meager sentences, were etched into her brain.
He has been recovered alive. Prepare healers he is in poor condition.

Ch 2 The Treasure Hoarders had not beaten his brother. They had not tortured him. Kaeya had done it to himself in an attempt to stop himself from speaking the truth. All to keep those he swore to safe.
Diluc stared at the bruises and swelling around his brother’s face with newfound horror. How had Kaeya given them to himself exactly? Had he smashed his face into something repeatedly to stop himself from speaking? Had he baited the Hoarders into beating him purposefully? Had he run face first into a wall, attempted to give himself a concussion. Had Kaeya attempted to bite off his own tongue to remain silent?
Diluc felt sick.

Ch 1
I hear something about souls?” Yuuji says as he enters the loungespace with a platter of various snacks, from senbei crackers to Satoru’s hidden wagashi stash, hey . Suguru follows behind him carrying a tray with several cups and a full pot of something, though Satoru will bet good money that its low grade bagged tea based solely on Yuuji’s rather pinched expression. That kid had opinions about food and drink, and is a picky snob when it comes to tea in particular.Satoru is fighting off flashbacks to the Shai Hong Red Tea Incident that happened after the exchange event as the two place the dishes down on the coffee table. Tea that good apparently warranted two black flashes, seven wall holes, and a partially collapsed lung. Safe to say Todo never said or did anything about anyone’s tea ever again.
All of Us, TogetherBefore he can ask, Suguru finally speaks. “What is… JNSA?”
Satoru doesn’t know. The kids exchange glances.
Megumi sits up properly for the first time since they entered the dorms, speaking in a soft voice, “After the destruction of Shinjuku and exposure of sorcerers to the general public circa 2018, the higher ups lost a lot of power, most sorcerers alive were either too powerful for them to control, or irreverent of their demands. The government had to be seen doing something, so they reached out to a lot of the more socially prominent sorcerers; it was messy, but eventually an agreement was reached: the Japanese government would partially sponsor Japan’s New Sorcerers Association, with additional sponsors in the new heads of the three major clans in December 2019. We officially became civil servants, with credentials like police or firefighters.”
Around the room eyes are wide, shock hanging heavy in the air.
It's disturbed when Satoru claps his hands in delight, “Hoi! Did Yuuta-kun like his gift! What about you three? Enjoy my money?”
Megumi slaps his hand against his ribs, and Yuuji laughs. “What the hell kind of message is ‘oops I killed your dad lol’? Huh?? Huh?” Megumi laments gravely, though his grin, sharp as a knife, gives him away.
“He said he’d rather have you back than be your damn heir.” Nobara needles, poking him in the side.
“Oi that tickles!! Nobara Nobara stop no!” he flails a bit, but Megumi keeps him held down, so she keeps going, shouting “your clothes didn’t fit me you asshole!”
“Sensei, you gave me your eyes. That I couldn't get to. Because you were sealed.” Yuuji voices into the void, rather bemused.
“...2019?” Shoko utters quietly.
“I’m surprised the Zen’in and Kamo clans would agree to something like that…” Yaga says, ignoring the year for the moment.
“They didn’t have much of a choice,” Yuuji counters, sipping his tea placidly, “Not after Maki massacred the Zen’in elders and became the head by force.”
“And not when the Kamo already have the black mark of hosting Stitches as Kamo Noritoshi,” Megumi spits.
“Ooooor having a Death Painting use their technique better than their chosen heir, who is friends with said Death Painting, or when the Death Painting’s half-brother is the one who killed Sukuna.” Nobara says, as she stops messing with Satoru long enough to tack on her two cents.

Suguru knows it’s been awhile since his last rendezvous with Satoru, but surely his best friend would have mentioned a life update as significant as dating a monkey. One who was, in fact, still in middle school! What the hell?
Both Satoru and Yuuji go back in time to November 2016. For the sake of preserving the timeline, they try to act normally but it really doesn’t work out.
Meanwhile, Suguru tries to stage an intervention for his best friend despite being one of jujutsu society’s most wanted.
