For about eight sweeps (eighteen years) Commander Vantas has served as the Empress’ threshecutioner, he proved himself and climbed the ranks. Now he was in charge of his own fleet, colonizing planets for the Alternian empire. For the past two and a half sweeps (five years) he has been taking a hold on a planet called Earth, which is simple enough. Except for a pesky resistance taking hold in his chosen global capital city. Led by some humans known by the name “Strider.”
Karkat has a plan on how to deal with them, though when his idiot subordinates bring him the wrong Strider, he has to revise it.

Dave Strider is a 26 year old trying to help his brothers with their revolution against the Alternian colonization effort. He doesn't get to do much, he mostly helps set up, or writes protest raps, or spray paints dumb caricatures of the troll leadership onto the sides of buildings.
But being relatively uninvolved doesn't mean he's safe.
