Summary
What the title says. About 11 years ago (from my perspective; relativity is weird) I was launched into space onboard the Hail Mary to figure out a solution to the Astrophage problem. Now I live on an alien planet I call Erid, in the 40-Eridani system. Yes, I’m actually Ryland Grace. Ask me anything.
Also, can someone please tell me if Eva Stratt is alive? And ideally send me a video of you punching her in the face? Guess that’s a long shot, but it can’t hurt to ask.

Summary
The dungeon's over, and the AI assumes his help rebuilding Earth will bring him and Carl closer. But, to his dismay, Carl still blames him for all the suffering the dungeon caused. It doesn't matter what the AI does, he can't seem to get Carl to see him as anything other than an enemy.
In desperation he hatches a plan, something he thinks Carl won't be able to ignore. However, like everything else he's tried, it spectacularly backfires. Instead of Carl learning more about who the AI is, the AI learns more about what it means to be human than he ever wanted to know.- Language:

The System AI takes advantage of the long gap between the third and fourth floor to whisk Carl away and graciously bestow upon him some relaxing down time. As expected, Carl is suspicious and won’t be easily won over. But the System AI is resourceful, and has other ways of manipulating his favorite crawler's heartstrings.

They are the best and brightest on their planet, and while they are nervous, hope and camaraderie are high.
And then, one by one, and then all at once, they begin to sicken.
