Summary
After a steaming hot shower, Lex decides to seize the day. Not because of Mercy’s idiot carpe diem sticker she’d stuck on his bathroom mirror, either. Mercy has a knowing look when he tells her to cancel his meetings for the day, that he’s decided to go out for a stroll. He buttons his top shirt pocket, securing his chunk of pink kryptonite surely in place. Superman is assisting the elderly group of tourists across the street to the Saturday farmer’s market, according to the 9 A.M. morning report. It’s not a particularly homosexual thing to do.
OR: Always check the eBay reviews on kryptonite—Lex seduces Superman with a dyed hot pink rock.

Summary
She’s bubbly, there is absolutely no reason a med student should be bubbly when you have her cleaning pus out of a homeless man’s foot. Not to mention it’s eight in the morning, and you both have been here since it was…however long ago Thursday was. But she’s there, and she’s humming, and making conversation with the guy like he comes here every day. If this is what it felt like for Benton, you should try a lot harder to convince him to go to a fancy dinner with your credit card, or every single Doc Magoo run, or you could wash his car every week.
Five ways Carter could have met Lucy Knight’s mother, and the one time he actually did.

Summary
(No man's land: waste or unowned land or an uninhabited or desolate area that may be under dispute between parties who leave it unoccupied out of fear or uncertainty…)
*
Their first week, the first three hours, he’d gone over every single option. He’d concluded by the fourth hour that there were a dozen reasonable candidates. By the third, he’d narrowed it to Kate as his only choice. He’d kept her as his choice a full six days before he’d realized what a fool he’d been for even thinking about the concept.
She’s not the one to stick around.
Doesn’t matter that he hates to admit it, even if it’s in the safety of his own mind, that she’s a runner. People are who they are, she’d never had to apologize to that, not to him. But he knows better than to pick between her and survival, so Jack made number one. Because Jack would sooner cut someone into bits than let them go. Call him crazy, but if he’s going to make it traveling through space and time, that’s the guy he wants. So when his one ticket to survival is slicing his hands open during the night, Sawyer’s gonna goddamn sit here with him.

It turns out knowing that Steve's breath catches whenever you press your teeth against his throat doesn't mean he can't still make you want to murder him whenever he launches himself off a roof in pursuit of a suspect or decides there's not enough time to put on his vest before busting into a meth lab and beating people up.

Summary
Endearing, is what he thought of Vincent’s near-obsessive calendar habits. Not that he would ever admit that. The first year of living together, he thought it was strange; he had never bothered with a calendar- god, he wasn’t anywhere near put-together enough for that- but he silently appreciated the semblance of structure it brought to his life.
