“Could you be gentler? That’s my body you’re trying to use like playdough.”
“How do you know what playdough is?” Sam asked, tacking on temporary butterfly bandages. “Stop moving,” he repeated. “You’re going to tear this open more.”
“I can read. I go into stores.” Bucky hissed and dug his fingers into sandy ground when Sam started to suture the wound shut.
“You act like you’ve never had stitches,” Sam tsked, though Bucky was sure he wasn’t imagining the strain in Sam’s voice.
“Y’know, Nazi-fucks had a softer touch than you.”
“Fuck you, Barnes.” Sam worked quickly. Despite Bucky’s bitching, he was efficient and really did do a good job of keeping the pain to a minimum.
