Once they’d confirmed that Frankie would be filling in as the rhythm guitarist, Ray had shot her wife a quick text to keep her updated about the current situation. Even if Gee hadn’t already been invested in the tour to begin with, as well as Ray’s career as a whole, it was always worth informing her about when Mikey scored a win. They’d set up a call for when Gee got home from the Marvel offices and Ray hadn’t held back describing the tiny punk girl, who threw herself and her guitar around the stage as if they were unbreakable.
But there were a few things Ray neglected to share. For example, she decided to keep it to herself that Frankie fiddled obsessively with the ring piercing her lower lip, flicking her tongue out like a lazy snake to taste the cold metal. There was no reason for Gee to know about that, she reasoned. Just like it wasn’t necessary to inform Gee that Frankie’s soft and delicate hands, with their hardened fingertips, made her want to sin.
